CMC had announced their third version of one of the most exciting Ferraris of all time - the 1958 TESTA ROSSA. Release was expected in May & but was typically delayed. We have finally received a very limited number . Order yours now so that you will be among the first to see it in your own hands.
The CMC model is an authentic replication of Chassis No. 0732 which was earmarked for a private owner, Ed Hugus . "Lucybelle” is the name by which this Testa Rossa first came to be known in its good old days. Ed Hugus was an American, who decided to have the car painted in American racing white with double blue stripes with the #22. Admittedly, that appearance was unusual for a Ferrari. But take a look for yourself: Isn’t it strikingly beautiful? This is why CMC built a high-end miniature replica of it, limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide.
One of Lucybelle’s racing highlights was a 7th rank at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1958, where it had the starting number 22. The drivers Ed Hugus and Ernie Erickson won their spot by competing triumphantly against a large number of tough competitors. This replica represents the current status of the car.
The name Testa Rossa was created because of its red painted valve hoods of the powerful 300 hp 12 cylinder engine. This body is more than spectacular. The so-called Pontoon Fenders gave it an extraordinary look. In the course of time, Testa Rossa (meaning “Red Head” in English) became the most successful and best-known Ferrari model of all time.
A sharp, detail-exact replication of the cockpit and dashboard complete with instruments and controls. The seats are covered in real leather and framed with beige stripes. No less faithful to the original is the steerinel with three slotted spokes. To build this 1:18 scale CMC model, it takes 1,640 single parts in addition to the extraordinary hand craftsmanship that puts them together. The authentic replication of this model also makes it time-enduring in terms of value and collectability. Hopefully, it will find a new home in your collection. It includes a sturdy wind shield with chromed metal frame, a detachable engine hood with a quick opening device and additional leather straps. There is a elaborate rendition of the circuit board with wiring and relays & the tank cap and tank flap in the head rest can be opened. The spare wheel is fastened with a leather belt.
This replica is based on a metal tube space frame true to the original. The rear cover is affixed with a quick closing device that can be opened and the wire wheels with aluminium rims are perfect including hand-assembled stainless steel spokes with nipples and removable two-winged Borrani central locking nuts. The cockpit is true to the original with seats that are covered with leather and a fully instrumented dashboard. The underbody with a stainless-steel fuel tank with rivets & a metal exhaust tailpipe is an exact replication of the original. The original produced 300 hp at 7,200 rpm, with a top speed of about 270 km/h. Total length: approx. 10 inches.
