Produced by GMP, this is the sixth model in their exclusive "The Masterpiece Collection". These new 1:18 scale replicas bring very significant Ferrari cars of the past combined with an all new level of detail and accuracy from GMP. The 312PB was designed and built to compete in the international endurance series, it is arguably the most successful Ferrari race car ever built. This replica is the painted protype used in late 1971 & early 1972 testing prior to Daytona.
The 312PB was continually modified and was ultimately perfected for 1972. Ferrari knew all it needed was a handful of talented drivers to make this car a winner. This replica has all the details that made these cars so spectacular. Every detail is recreated from the torn race stickers to the tire markings used to measure tread wear. You will not find another replica of this caliber. Reserve your copy today as these are sure to sell out quickly. Serialized plate - Diecast metal body - removable front and rear covers - Poseable steering - Functional suspension - Plumbed and wired engine - Moveable shifter - Fabric seatbelts - Real rubber tires - includes engine cover support and collectible plaque.
In 1970, a change in the regulations for sportscar racing for 1972 was announced. This effectively closed the door on the big boys such as the Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512. With this news, Ferrari immediately put all their efforts into the development of the 312 PB, which utilized the new 3.0 Liter 180 degree flat-12 boxer. Only eleven 312 PB cars were built between 1971 and 1973. Team Ferrari used the 1971 race year as a testing ground for the 312 PB, achieving moderate successes in the World Sports Car Championship. Then, in 1972, Ferrari launched an all-out attack on its rivals, dominating the circuit, and winning every race it entered!
